Star Child Cry

“I am also a child of stardust, whose story can be traced back to a time before the earth was formed, back to a generation of stars now gone forever, but whose violent deaths in supernovas transformed stellar hydrogen into the dust that eventually became our planet—and my flesh” (Robert John Russell).
Do we see others, especially the little ones who suffer from ecological & social disasters, as children of stardust & siblings of the Star Child whom the Magi sought to worship & whom Herod sought to kill?
Voices are heard through media, weeping & great mourning, young & old weeping for their kith & kin, because they are no more.
May we let our inner star guide us to find ways & means to comfort those who mourn. May we seek & see God’s hidden presence especially among the small, the poor, the hungry & those who suffer great loss.
May national & local governments respond promptly & adequately to ecological & social disasters. May ordinary citizens do their necessary share.
Let us give & receive a Blessed Christmas!
